Will anybody be at NSP tomorrow? Would anyone be willing to help perfect throwing a cast net? I just don't have that perfect bloom yet. I would be forever grateful ;D

terri....Ill tell ya, the only way youre gonna get good at it is to practice...you can have someone show you and show you, but until you do it yourself over and over again, its just not gonna work all the time...Ive practiced in my yard, and thought I was doin pretty good, but throwing it 10+ feet off a pier is a whole different animal....lol Hell, I still suck at it myself....however, Ive found that (for ME), the best way to do it at the pier is the ole spin and drop technique. When the bait is on top, its the easiest way as far as Im concerned... I still try to fling it out once in a while just to see, and I get tacos more often than not....but once in a while, Ill have a good throw... Using the spin technique, I do pretty good when the bait isnt too deep....but ya gotta have a good sized net that sinks pretty quick... Keep at it, and youll find a way youre comfortable with...theres no wrong way, and when you find a way that works for ya, youll probably stick with it... heres a couple of videos you might wanna look at to try.... www.youtube.com/watch?v=lOUkj2h2LjIwww.youtube.com/watch?v=OBDdoOnGwbIIf you search "castnet" on youtube, youll find a bunch of videos on different styles...

i agree with Goindeep. its hard to throw a net 10 feet down and still have it in a circle. i got to where i was pretty good at throwing it in my yard but im not good at throwing off the pier. yesterday i used the spin and drop technique and only needed to throw it that once cuz i caught like 30 whitebait. and for the record i did use youtube videos to teach me how also, just keep throwing it in your yard
