kinda suprised to see no one has started anything on the massive black drum we got around the bay right now. Last couple of weeks the school have been by fort desoto/tarpon key area. closed to a 1,000 fish anywhen from 10-80 lbs were schooled up and pretty easy to catch.....we headed south this past weekend and were got a report from a guide that fishes desoto area alot saying they were headed north and they were spotted around the st pete pier this weekend, so guess theyre headin north. I never targeted them or had the chance too, but what a fight they give! anyone get lucky with any of them?

Used to catch big ones at night using live blue crabs off the Gandy Catwalks. Worthless to keep, too many worms, but a blast to catch. Fish in the 55 to 60 pound range were very common.
