Ok... first and foremost, I'm new. Hello. I've been watching the site for awhile, never had anything to say until now.
I need help ID'n a fish I caught last week. Stupid me didn't take a pic, but I'll do my best to describe it.
I am about 98 percent sure it was a type of tobie. Only it was a BIG sharpnose.
It was mostly brown and BRIGHT (like new Ford truck bright) yello, with a deep blue spots. Only the spots were more like octogons. He was about 8 inches long and as big around as a triple whopper. He never blew up though. Had a hide as hard as nails. White belly... with 3 or 4 barnacles attached.
I was told he was a carribean sharpnose puffer, but after doing a lot of googling, I've seen nothing about them having any yellow. Orange. Not yellow. This fella was VERY yellow.
He was caught on the South Pier just a bit down from the 2nd bathroom. Caught him while fishing for pinners using squid. He hit the bait before the bait fell all the way to the bottom.
Wish I'd of taken a pic. Thats how it goes sometimes though. Any help would be appreciated, cause I'm going nuts trying to ID this fish.

So far the honeycomb cowfish has been the closest to what I caught. Still doesn't look 100 percent like it. However, like I said, closest I've seen to it yet.

Close might be best . These ornamental fish dont look 100 percent alike. They change shades and stuff.

I have caught cow fish from the pier and from the boat out by the main span, so they are there. And that honey comb spot pattern is kinda of a dead give a way. And they are hard, must have thick skin or something.
