Left about 10:45am this morning to head out of the williams park area. On the way to get gas and cigs i saw a guy having a hard time getting his spare tire down at the gas station. He blew out his right front tire. I asked my bro in law if he wanted to help this guy out. We agreed and the guy let us help. Got the spare tire down, and flat tire off. Went to put the brand new spare tire on the front (full size spare for a new silverado) the rim was too small and was hitting the brake caliper. You can tell someone tried to do it before because there was gouges in the spare rim. His rims are 17" and the spare was a 16". Needless to say he had drum rear brakes and we took the right rear tire off and moved it to the front and the spare fit on the rear. After all said and done the guy offered to pay for gas, cigs, drinks and anything else we wanted and we politely refused. He noticed we were dressed up for fishing and said "hope you tear em up today you just earned some good karma" We didnt think anything about it until we started catching fish.
After we got to out spot and 10 minutes into top water walking i hooked a nice snook in 2.5' of water using the white and pink bone spook jr. here is my bad boy
So we go about 10 minutes inside the mangroves more making progressive casts to the banks alternating middle left right and my bro in law hooks up with his snook on a white and red top dog jr. here is his snookie
we were excited and still havent made it to our redfish hole yet. Got to the hole and busted out some live shrimp and ended up with 4 small reds that my bro in law caught here is one of the reds
as he was de hooking one it fell in the water...i call this pic "what the hell just happened"
so we are trying new baits and lures and i get this little guy
alright here we go one red away from a slam for me and a trout for my brother in law. Well....my bro in law gets his trout. Well barely
got very slow and very shallow around 5pm but all in all an excellent day fishing and it totally unwound me from a hellatious week.
