just bought my first yak (pelican 116dlx) took it out to our redfish hole that is always booming off of 41 and there was nothing. Crab traps empty, no baitfish, not even a minnow swimming. I got excited when i saw a mullet jump...there's life 
Anyway after being disappointed that our red hole didnt produce we decided to go to cockroach bay and hit the ins and outs of the mangroves....well, no signs of life there either. fished the entire incoming tide and didnt even produce a bite. Needless to say this was my first time on a kayak ever and didnt flip. We paddled about 10 miles yesterday and im a little sore today but cant wait to get back into the water again. All in all it was a good practice day for me learning how to navigate my yak, paddle straight, and cast as im drifting backwards (thats really cool).
Cant wait til this water gets warmer....
