ayyy i hear dem big boys (black drum) are startin to show up (30-80lbs) ..near tha cause ways n different spots like near the 520 bridge in cocoa..eau gallie..merrit island area...i fish 4rm the bridges over there..i have my bigg dogg heavy tackle n drop net ready ;D ...but do anyone have any tips for catchin these bruiserz?? thanx ;D

they love clams and crabs. Overcast days and at night are good times to fish for em.

i used to catch them at the 520 bridge at sykes creek on the north side (furthest corner facing the boat ramp at kiwanas island) at night. the street light shines down on the rocks and it attracts lots of trout and big shrimp that dimple the surface. there is a dropoff on that side. drop in a half of a blue crab on a 7/0 circle and hang on to the rail.

ive seen peopkle catch big ones at ccc using a dead shrimp

My brother caught a 44 pounder several years ago on a med. action rod w/15lb. test under the CC bridge. Took quite a while to get him to the boat not like a freight train more like hooking a floor safe, slow and heavy. Painter
