Hey Blacktip,
That model # doesn't look good. Is the word Harnell inside a fish logo? Can you describe the rod or do you have a picture. There are some fairly new rods on the market with the name Harnell on them but are not the Harnell/Harrington of old. Look to be made in China. If it's that short and a factory rod, it would be an Imperial model and be a two piece with a detachable wood butt. Any other markings like line class etc? What color is it and what kind of guides? If you stop by Minnows and Monsters or call 813-835-1512, I'll be glad to help any way I can.
Keith

Yep, the Skyway is one of my favorite places. Started fishing it in 1960. I like this forum too. Seems like real people come here, including ones that like to, dare I say it, eat fish. Thanks for the kind words.

Thanks for all the info, I was able to get the info I needed.
Sharkark, It has harnell written inside of a white fish. I have 4 other harnells and this one seems to be legit on comparison, I just never heard of those #'s before. The guy I talked to said it was a #173 that had ben cut down. guess the person who rewrapped it put the wrong info on the rod.
Thanks again

# 173 Doesn't do much for me either. Not in the catelogue or on the price list. Ther was a 1751,1752,1753,1754 but they were a very fast taper rod, not like anything you've probably seen before.
