Need to get a new cast net and was wondering if some of you guys had the chance to cast a lee fisher cast net. I'm looking at an 8' 1/4" mesh net.

i own 2 lee fisher cast nets, a 10 ft 3/8 and a 10ft 1/4 and absolutely love them both, they arent calusas but for they are great nets. i highly reccomend them, and if your going to buy one, check out Tampa fishing outfitters, great place in tampa and the guys are helpful- ask for capt rieumont( pronounced REE Mont) tell him jack sent ya, hes good peoples.

the baitbuster series, make sure the net is green!!!!! the joy fish nets are cheaper, and remember, you get what you pay for! My nets are used mainly on the flats, or atleast away from the pier, i will not take my expensive nets out there. if your going to get something to use around the piers i highly reccomend buying a cheaper one and taking your chances with those, unless you have a 68 year old costa rican lady named lydia that lives with you and can mend them after every trip:) but yes, they are very good nets, make sure whatever net you use to rinse them thouroughly after EVERY trip and hang them up to dry, out of the sun, and then place back into the bucket with the lid. saltwater, and the sun will kill the net, and when the net starts to stiffen up on ya, soak it in a bucket with some liquid fabric softner( 1

ooops. 1 cup of liquid fabric softner and fill the bucket with water, i do mine over night, and then rinse it really good, dry, and stow away
