Hey Trucky, Glad you decided to fish. Fight through the pain. The Kings are here, (for how long, who knows), I was on the SSP today. Score, Kings 3, me 0. The Kings were everywere on the incoming. They were skyrocketing on the macs all morning. Landed a 31" mac. After the tide started to go out, everything just died. Hope this helps. Oh, size wise, 15-40.

do kings taste the same as macks or are they better. I am not allowed grills in my condos so I cant really do much with macks, was wondering if its the same meat or if it tastes less fishy when cooked in the oven
I know you can prepare macks in the oven but they still only come out as just ok IMO, Ive tried several recipes

Well some of us have not spent a lot of time in Florida and would rather not waste the season playing around with different techniques. Why not ask someone who really has things down and shorten the learning curve? Isn't that the whole reason for having a site such as this? To learn and to teach others what you know? Sounds like you have it all figured out though.... Must be nice to not have questions. Good luck to you.... I guess...

not a fan of trolley rigs mainly because most people when i fish are not and if and when they get fish on u not have one but 2 lines in the water that will more than likely get tangled or wind up getting ur line cut being said what i said before is because i would rather teach my self and learn from my mistakes and from doing that last fall me and buddy who fishes with me had a very succesfull year last fall in one day tide was out going windy as hell cold as hell free lining 6-7 inch thread fins landed 5 kings for a total of 9 last fall how many have yall ever caught? ?? u may say wheres the pictures wheres the evidence its in my stomach who has time for pictures when theyre fishing?? not me theres more fish to be had pictures are for jibronees who like to show off!!!!!!!!!! ps fish on

So how do you fish for Kings on the incoming tides or you only try with the outgoing?

So, I've never done the trolley rig before... What do I need to pick up before I get out there? A special clip or release or something... Right? Any recommendations on a type, wieght or brand? I like to be fully prepared so we can slay these bad boys!

LintTrap, Best thing to do is just show up and learn the set-up from Wayne. Bring an extra Spinning rod, the longest one you got.

Polk This is just a chance for someone with a little less expierence of targeting a specific species of fish to learn something new. How do you feel that someone is cheating or wrong for taking someone elses expierence and knowledge of this great sport a bad thing? If you were a big baseball prospect would you prefer to be taught by a minor leage pitching coach or a major leage pitching coach. People meeting with TruckyFD to learn his rig and how to use it is a great idea trucky has had a lot of success when it comes to targeting specific species especially when it comes to kings. It will take many trips and possibly many seasons for the new learners to become not only expierenced tolly fishers but successfull ones too.

Polk, You probably take advantage of others experience and don't realize it. Do you and your buddy share any techniques when fishing? How did you get started? Were you born knowing how to tie a fishing knot? Have you ever watched a fishing show or read a fishing magazine and learned anything? Do you fish with blinders on and pay no attention to anyone around you that is having success? How many times have you seen boating anglers not have a clue about fishing from a Pier? Especially, the Skyway.

I think polk was just using a little machismo humor, bustin a little chops ya know. Anyways hopefully he'll be out there with ya all and we can see who catches more fish.
I am targeting flounder and grouper this weekend. Maybe round up a enough crab to take some up to my dad and gramps.
