Hey guys,
Just wanted to compare how you guys did these past 3 years on the pier. Seems to be a slow year this year for the Skyway...unless we just aren't posting much anymore.
I'd say 2008 was a good year for me.

My bet is less fishing , and less reporting. The closure of half the pier kept me away for almost a year. the few times i did go , just wasnt feeling it. And half assed fished. I have fished the skyway more in my boat, and have had less then desirable reports. Lots of baby red grouper, and catfish.

No way to compare the 3 years you mention. I use to fish the Piers every 10 days to 2 weeks, now I only fish it every couple of months. Main reason is the closing of the East Pier. Before you could always go and catch an incoming or outgoing tide change and have a decent shot. Not any more. With that said, as the weather cools down, I will be out there more often and fishing the incoming for Kings.

Well this year I have managed to catch more keeper gags than I have in the past 2 years. don't know if there are more keepers, or I am just getting better. Don't spend as much time out there this year as I did in the past. miss taking my motorhome down and spending the weekends there

2007 was an outstanding year for the Macks and Kings as I remember. Not many a weekend did I miss. 2008 was an odd year for them but I caught more keeper Grouper and Snapper then I had for some time. 2009 has been slow with working out of town my trips have been few and far between. I am noticing that fishing the incoming is producing more and more. You just got to get that bait out to rocks on the east side, the fish are there and hungry.

07 was a great year for us with the spanish macks & bonito.
08 was a great year for the grouper and tarpon.
09 was by far the best year for the snapper.
