Got to the ramp at 6:00, promptly broke the starter cord on my 25Merc. Trailered back home, got out the tools and fixed it, got back to the ramp around 8:00. Tide was outgoing slowly. First shrimp to hit the bottom was nailed by a keeper mangrove. Caught a few shorts then had a cutoff and saw a nice Mac swipe at my egg sinker as I reeled it in. Tied on a 50# leader and a cork and tossed out a shrimp. Bam. Keeper Mac. And a school of small jacks chasing it. Caught a pile of jacks and another very nice Mac. Tide went slack and things got slow. Then the tide turned, coming in again so I went back to fishing down current side of one of the pilings. Caught a couple of lanes, a pile of short snaps, a grunt and then one more keeper snap. Ran out of shrimp and that was that, left the biting.

Went back out today and the bite was much slower, plus windier and tide was dropping all morning. Ended up with 2 keeper snapper, 2 big pigfish and a baby jack. Threw back small snaps and at least 2 small lanes. Lost a Big Mac. Storms started building right when tied started to come in.
