NOPE NOT TODAY!! I have been fishing the Skyway Piers for years and have never had it so bad. Other than the Piney Point Spill does any body know why it's been so bad? I gone when it's been slow but never this bad. I used to at least bring home enough to feed myself dinner.

I gone when it's been slow but never this bad. I used to at least bring home enough to feed myself dinner. We Currently have the Red Tide in Tampa Bay.
In Southwest Florida over the past week, K. brevis was observed at background and very low concentrations in Pinellas County, background to low concentrations in Hillsborough County, background to low concentrations in Manatee County, background to low concentrations in Sarasota County, low and medium concentrations in Charlotte County, background to high concentrations in Lee County, and background to high concentrations in or offshore of Collier County. Look at the Map Below.

Thanks for the info, water temps are now around 80. can only get worse as the temperatures rise, at least with the interactive maps you can see where to fish or not.

Mackman: Thanks for the info but at the present time it doesn't appear to be bad enough to create a 0 catch rate. I might be wrong but it doesn't lok that bad now.

How are the extra early weekend mornings as far as crowds?
To go off what tears said, have a light rod with a jig ready to throw at the small packs of mackerel when they chase your bait back. Otherwise feel free to get a workout throwing spoon rigs at nothing.
Fish for what is around...
I know I can get a limit of snapper right now as long as it isn't blown out with dirty water. Pompano are around. Big grunts are there. Grouper will be ready in a few days but it's getting warm. Expect the pinfish to "stop biting" over the next week...

I think once We start getting our June Rains, the Fish Bite will improve. The rains will help clean up the water & help dilute the Discharged Water from the Piney Point dump. As for now, We may have to rely on the Off-Shore Fishing Trips to bring in a Meal.

Salty bass I’m curious as to why the pinfish will stop biting over the next week.

If there’s no pinfish it will be impossible to get a “seabird slam”

Salty bass I’m curious as to why the pinfish will stop biting over the next week. They know people are keeping them for bait and sense it.
