I heard they were reopening the downtown st Pete 4th st pier really soon, like maybe this weekend. Did anyone fish the old pier there? Will we be allowed to fish the new pier? If you used to fish there was it any good? I often go down to the park next to the pier on my lunch break and walk around. I always see a lot of sheephead hanging around the rocks, but I’ve never tried fishing there....

Originally was scheduled for the 30th but now it is TBD because of corona. I used to fish it some. Did great on sheepshead in the spring along with macs. Caught some trout & a few snapper too. Saw some big snook but never fished for them. I don't care for only 1 designated fishing area but understand why. I'm hoping they left the old pilings & some rubble around to hold some fish in that area.
