It was pretty slow. Pinfish were in numbers, along with leatherjacks and blue runners. Caught some mangos and got one keeper. After almost an hour of nothing I managed to catch two speckled trouts on a gotcha of all things, then caught a third one off of shrimp. All were released, obviously. Saw people catching flounder and rays. One person next to me caught a jack and gave it to me. I had a tiny sized pinfish that I casted into some structure, and after 10 minutes or so something slammed it like a train and rocked me immediately. Could've been a small grouper. Overall, it wasn't great but yet again the wind and water weren't compliant either. The highlight of the day was seeing a 30+ inch jack chase a mullet next to the pier!

My daughter, granddaughter, and I were there yesterday, they went beaching, I looked the place over. Piers didn't impress me that much. Best place to fish is the end of the Jetty, but of course it's closed to humans. 4 boats were at the very end, that's the sweet spot, wind was howling....been a while since I was at a beach, I see the thongs are still popular, but not on an old hag that forgot she's not hot anymore....will ruin your day

I have not tried the jetty much with the tough footing. Many people fish the seawall between the piers. Hope to get out there late this summer.

We took CCC over there but went south when we left past all the mansions that line the beach....saw one that was the size of a small luxury hotel....probably where seabird lives. Stopped at the new rest area at the north pier, didn't know it was elevated, almost killed me going up that ramp, won't do that again, mangroves are a better option. Stopped at the CircleK on 41 and Moccasin Wallow Rd and grabbed a big tub of boiled peanuts, still chewing on those suckers

Seabird ain't got no mansion, just a simple villa in modest neighborhood. And the seabird has the common sense not to live on the waterfront in a hurricane prone area.

Went out at night on Saturday and came back around 3:00 am on Sunday to see how it was there. Tons of big threadfins and scaled sardines under the bridge, and they were the best bait to use there but didn't have any sabikis so couldn't get any. Saw people catching snook, trout and ladyfish on em. Me and my brother used dead shrimp but only got a grunt and a small catfish. Flipper came around surprisingly around 1:00 am, thankfully he didn't take any bait. Very good activity overall.

Also forgot to mention that I saw a mango around 13-15 inches at the sea wall there!

You can park by the sailing center next to the park, and walk down the beach towards the Piers. A lot of people were there

Absolutely slayed the trout on free lined live 2-3” pinfish there the other day. They were hitting them as fast as you could get them in the water. All keeper size but they were of course released due to the current closure. Sand key is definitely a great place to fish. But just like the skyway, it takes a few trips to get the lay of the land and really figure out what is holding there, what they will eat and where they are sitting. Those fish get a lot of pressure and will sometimes get lock jaw when it comes to artificials. I’ve been doing quite well there lately though. I’m almost reluctant to say that for fear of it becoming even more crowded than it already is. 😂

I have my favorite areas there as well. I tend to fish for varied panfish at Sand Key...its very good for those. The whole area is much closer to where I live versus the skyway which appears to be a mess now. I am up north now but would in no way fish the skyway presently.

You can also catch Multiple Varieties of Fish at the Dunedin Causeway. Three Bridges are there to Fish around & Plenty of Beach Area. There are also several Baitshops there. The Varieties of Fish that are caught there are: Speckled Trout, Mackerel, Pompano, Redfish & Snook. Plus there is Plenty of Parking everywhere there & there is No Charge to Fish. Yu just cannot beat that.
