1st off let me say, if someone is "counting cars" then they need to get there dam eyes examined ! We had to wait at 730am for a car to leave as it was supposed to be 200 cars limited. I said great, we had lots of real estate to fish, no crowds. Well the old red haired guy at the South pier left and the next person on decided to let every dam car in, it was 3X as crowded at the end and I have NEVER seen more people in my life. Fishing was brutal, pin fish and bait was the only thing caught by me. I heard of 1 mackeral falling off and saw a few small snappers landed but it was a tough bite. My girl did catch an odd fish, Can someone comfirm ? I think it's a trigger.

It is not a trigger ! I caught one there last week, big boy! It is an orange filefish... I caught one on a Gotcha plug haha! What did you get him on? Did you keep? I heard that they are nasty to eat and/or poisonous.

I was also thinking some kind of file fish with the shape of the head and mouth.

File fish, need a file to fillet it .. Lookdowns are delicious, but you get a sliver for a fillet. They are all cool fish, just not worth it.. Just cast net some greenbacks and make ya some sardine ish snacks..

Me too Bubba, just jerkin y'alls chain lol If you remember I love me some Blowfish. Not much meat on the File though. But it is a free Country. Actually I have always wondered what them Gulls tastes like lol and for the record Seabird my sarcasm was in fun, and not directed at you personally. Those Rabbitfish are good to eat to. Fish On Fellers still trapped in this fn recliner lookin out the window.

skyjay: I had tried a rabbit fish. Caught a big one, 18 inches long, about 3 years ago at the north skyway pier. The rabbit was really good. No, your humor didn't bother me. 😆

I did not keep the fish, wouldn't even think about it. Last fish I kept was a 36"? cobia 2 yrs ago. It's cheaper buying meat/fish at public's if I want to eat.

I have eaten blowfish and I know how to safely clean them. They are very good. Only a center bone down the back half. You only eat the tail section. I know how to get the most tail section with the way I clean them. Other people may know the same technique I use.

I would not keep rabbit, filefish or lookdowns. I caught a look down at the old John's Pass bridge many years ago and released it. You see a lot of them in aquariums.

I fish to eat. Plain and simple. That's why I do not target sharks, tarpon, trout, reds, snook. Heck I even ate lizardfish. Tasty.

We used to catch lookdowns from the A1A bridge over Sebastian inlet in the 70s and 80s- true - very thin fillets- but one of the TASTIEST fish that swims!....and good fighter for its size

I have no problem eating a good size fish, just didnt eat the file. I used to eat blowfish in Va beach but they were a diff variety. If it's a good 4lb fish + I may eat it but typically fish for the enjoyment. Love flounder and good size snapper or grouper.

I ones filleted a remora. Never again. Just not enough on it.
