I wanna get a trip going. Who would be willing to shell out 100 bucks a person to go on a charter? Of course the trip itself would be cheaper like 80 a person./.. Who would be interested? might even be cheaper... But im just fishing for general acceptence.,... who wants to go? we could do a high dollar trip and hit a middlegrounds 34 hr trip, or do a full day....
who wants some?

i'm all for it Stephen! But its going to be a HOT HOT minute before i can scrap up the funds to go on a trip. i'm currently unemployed and looking for a job with "0" luck and not much effort following that either. as i tell my cousin who says he hates his job; just be thankful you have one. then he reply's "man you know what? i don't hate my job." so for all those who are still working take the crap and keep at it before you find yourself fishing for a lot more than greenies! We'll get a trip together man! I haven't resorted to selling my fishing gear yet so i'm not "Rocked" bottom just yet

Im up for one, but if we're gonna shell out $100 apiece, why not look for a private charter?? I was looking at private charters several weeks ago and came across one out of the east coast (Port Canaveral, Sunrise Marina) that lists the price as $700 (negotiable) for a 10-12 hr trip for up to 6 anglers. Website: www.finfreak.com/rates.htmlI emailed the captain and asked a couple of questions, heres the response I got: "Hi Steve, we depart around 6-6:30am and return when we have plenty of fish to clean. We are doing trolling trips for mahi and wahoo for the next few months while its hot. Travel time to fishing grounds is usually 1 hour. If you have any more questions feel free to call me at 321-631-3474. Capt. Tim Altman" Worth looking into, maybe we could talk him down to $100 per person. Who here is good at negotiating??? Id much rather spend a few extra bucks to be on a private charter than a party boat. However, Im also up for a party boat trip since Ive never been on one. Count me in either way.

Depending on who we were going with, and where we would be fishing, I would be interested, especially during red snapper season. Don't think I could get enough time off for the 34hr middle grounds trip, but would like to do a 12 hr one day trip and fish 80-130'. Keep us posted on what the plan is. - David

Oh and there is always the Cajun. If i were to go fishing with him right now seeing that the kings have slowed down i would troll with deep diving plugs for grouper instead of the big spoons that he uses and when at the bottom fishing spots i would float a few baits for the cobia in the area.

$100 for a 1 day trip is going to be about my limit, and would need to be on this coast. Just can't afford more.
I have been doing some searching..........so far Double Eagle out of Clearwater (12hr trip 6am - 6pm) - $95 I believe these are Sunday trips. Hubbards at Johns Pass does 12hr Thurs trips (7am - 7pm) - $90 But 6hrs is running and only 6hrs is fishing. (40-50 mi out)

I would highly recommend the Dolphin out of Tarpon Springs. My brother and one of his friends takes this out twice a month and always catch fish. www.twogeorgesdeepseafishing.com/

i probably would, i can swing 90/100, but it would need to be on this coast and i kinda just wanna get on some grouper. Any day trips going out where they are catching steady fish, Id lke my arms to at least get a little sore, plus throw some grouper in the freezeer and if enough give a filte or 2 to my dad
Did the day trip outta hubbards like 10 years back, only thing keeper we caught was a single keeper red grouper, that was the only keeper on a boat of about 20? Someone caught a bonito and a big flounder, but somebody's gotta know a good charter here or on capt mels'

Them fillets are small.. but man... thats some good eatin!!! My only complaint is.. the slopily fillet fish there... man what a butchering they did.... but with 50 big grunts who wants to clean em all.. i took what i got.. i should have brought the grouper home to fillet.. but naaa i was lazy.. being that i was due in Port Charlotte soon. Queen fleet super queen and capt.Todd put us on fish!

yeah i didnt mind the grunt meat, its basically just like mangrove snapper. But still not really worth paying to bring home that, I want to be bringing in some heavy pole bending grouper, usually on those boats they give you heavy set ups so the grunts wont really be much of a challenge

We had the grouper cooked at a local restuarent and it was great.

So looking at the queen fleet one offer looks tempting.
12 hrs 40 people max. $3500. If we add 20% tip brings the total to $4200.00 or $105.0 per person. Do we think we can get 40 people to to commit?
