Be careful when Posting Pics of Regulated Fish such as Redfish, Snook & Spotted Trout which are Illegal to keep at this time. Don't post any Undersize Pics of Regulated Fish either such as Macks, Grouper, Snook, Redfish, Spotted Trout or Kings. A Friend of mine just got Investigated by the FWC for Posting a Pic of a Redfish on Facebook. Several of Us here on Proboards knows Him personally. The Pic of the Redfish was 2 Years Old. Some people out there fishing are Jealous of what You Catch. Some People want to Get the Free Money from the FWC for Turning You in for some Fish that may be questionable. Don't keep undersize Fish.
It is Always Best to Post Pics of Fish that are Legal to Keep.

I have learned that there are always two sides to the story. I’m certainly not suggesting that the person who took the photo did anything wrong nor did he deserve a visit from FWC. But there may be more to this. Such as some one told fwc lies. I highly doubt fwc saw a pic of an undersized fish and tracked the person down and opened an investigation. I never had a problem with fwc and I for one wish they would patrol even more. I have seen countless undersized fish kept, I have seen snook speared right at the np booth.

I think the message is made with good intention but It's okay to post pictures of your catch. If nothing was done illegally than you have nothing to worry about. It's not what you know, it's what you can prove and FWC isn't going to put that type of man-hours in for a single fish.

I agree, more to this story than the a single pic of fish online. FWC isn’t going to pay someone a visit based on one pic (unless it’s something really serious like a pic of a couple dead Goliath grouper on the cleaning table). My 2 cents.

True there is a difference of an undersized fish in your back yard and out on the water .... i will make sure to try and get pics of the release of little ones as we have been catching many rat reds my kid likes to takes pics then they all get released ...we follow all the rules even ones we dont so much agree with...

Someone misunderstood a few people 3 years ago about Me catching 15 Large Macks in one night at the SS Skyway Pier & then catching 15 Large Macks the next day at the SS Skyway Pier. That Person turned Me into the FWC & then quoted on Facebook said that I was stealing Macks above My Legal Limit. The FWC even knew which Vehicle I was Driving. I was put in cuffs & put in the FWC Van & Then I was physically searched. One Officer said that I was quoted to hiding a Mack in My Pants. The FWC Officer said that it was legal. My Buckets, Coolers & My Car were totally searched in front of about 20 people My Poles & Tackle were confiscated & then returned after everything was resolved by the FWC Officers. Not One Spanish Mackerel was found. Then I showed the FWC the Pictures of the Macks that I had that night & then the next day. The Person who turned Me in is still here on Proboards and is a real jerk. I dare Him to speak about this on this Thread. I will expose him if he does. Then He went Fishing with a Few of Us & He switched My Catch with his on a Fishing Boat We went on. Another Member here on Proboards saw this happen. Then I found out who it was by 4 others showing Me his post about Me on Facebook. My witness to what I am saying is sitting right beside Me.

FWC has a lot better things to do other than Facebook pics, at least they should have Yes, totally agree. They should be checking piers more often for violators and educating the public. Handing out fishing regs would be good as many anglers, especially tourists, are not informed.

I just don't take pictures anymore. It would have to be a special catch for me to take a picture. I don't worry about having to prove my fishing prowess or fear being ridiculed if I can't prove I'm successful. When people ask what I caught, I just say "nothing, got skunked again". I will say that everyone loves when I have a fish fry. Those who fish with me on a regular basis, know my success.

Call me odd but all my catches are special and I love sharing pics, love to see pics of others catches, shows me there are still some fish out there and fires me up to go get some

I love seeing pics and reading reports. If you don’t post what you catch then there is no point to be on this forum. Especially if you always say you got skunked every time.

Seemed close so I kept it. Not gonna lie, I'd set up an aquarium for that badboy. ... ALLEGEDLY. Then I saw the baby red grouper, and now I can't decide which would be a bigger badazz in a fish tank. Could feed him endless pinners after he grew a bit.
