Iβve caught red, gag and scamp. All taste pretty similar to me. Gags are normally bigger so I picked that one. Iβd still rather have a cooler full of vermillion & Lane snapper and porgies!!

I pick Snowy, only because its the only grouper on that list that I have never caught. I know they are a deep water species. Does anyone know what is the minimum depth one might have to go to catch one? I was thinking at least 300 feet, but I really have no idea.....

Also.... I have caught a Black Grouper in the Keys, but never here in the Tampa area. Do people get them here?

Snowy is the clear winner here, followed by scamp. The only one that trumps those two in my mind is yellowedge.

I voted Scamp because it is the tastiest in my opinion. Not gonna lie though, I prefer the thrill of catching a big gag though. So, I will say it is funner to catch gags though. But Scamps are so delicious.

Wallye has nailed it for the taste if ur part of a tribal village then they want the biggest which would be a gag more than likely. Good question boss.
