Fished the Bellaire Causeway from 3 to 530(sunset), Tide went from slack to rising. Started out with first 10 fish being pins...thought that would be the story for the afternoon. But around 430pm, I had a fish break off my hook. Replaced the lost hook with a long shank. Caught more pins, a puffer, grunt, lizard fish and then a 12.5 inch mack! All fish caught on dead shrimp. It was first mack I ever caught there. Figured some macks stayed behind in the warmer Bay and intercoastal waters.

Some of the Smaller Macks do stay behind in the Warmer Waters of the Intercostal during the Winter Season.

Sounds like you had a pretty good day with catches. Hoping keepers were more than that the 12.5 inch Mack. A couple of pinfish were keepers as was the grunt but small keepers. Let all those go as I just wanted larger fish. It was nice to have the pier to myself.
