I see a few pics of Kings being caught at the North Pier but can't trust the time line. Seems their FB page has pics from many moons ago.

not sure what page youre lookin at on facebook but i just checked both North Skyway Fishing Piers, and Skyway Fishing Piers and I see no recent pictures or reports of Kings, nor do I even see any old pics or reports other than Pattys big King pic on the pages profile pics. I can tell you this though, theyre so thick out by the Shipping Chanel ect theyve almost become a nuisance and the same for offshore, and the pipeline. Its only a matter of time before the water gets right and the invasion will be in. Good time of year for the Jumbos to start scouting through in thier neverending search for food. My logs have 6 years out of the last 15 with Kings in the bay in mid October with October the 8th the earliest. Only 1 way to find out. And in your case with the Kayak just cus they aint hit the piers yet, dont mean they aint on the beaches. gitrdone!

Probably drone further out and rapala closer. When battery gets low, figure drift a little with balloon and live bait. And maybe cast the drone to see what I can bring in. Will bring a bag full of Mac remains. Iβm not at the chum using level, yet, but I figure Mac guts may bring something in.

get you one of them black and yeller bait buckets and castnet some whitebait let a few loose ever now and then. its so funny to watch... they haul ass at first but when they realize the boats the only cover available they swim back up and hide under the boat. Not a better fish call on the market. fish guts will bring sharks. menhaden oil on a slow drip I V bottle is magic too. π

Anywhere I would have a chance at a King in a canoe with a motor? I'd love to catch one but don't want to drown in the attempt.

It's closed- and there's only been about a million Kingers caught there... should be able to gold hook some threadfins right there by the pier. easy peasy π€

never caught alot of snapper there but big sheeps black drum and flounder I've never tried going down to the old Redington Pier, but it is close to my house. Are you still able to park in the lot that was designated for the old pier?

"Never thought a shark would chase down a spoon."
I've seen sharks hit gotchas, jigs, hard baits, bubble/straw rigs. So yeah, they will hit a spoon!

Be careful around the pier. It is so rickety. It is due to be demolished. It took a hard hit with that strong cold front last December.
