Would this upcoming Thursday be good to go out to the piers? I've heard from a lot of people saying that it's the best time to go out because of the Moon phases or something like that.

The bite tends to be better during around full and new moon. Look up solunar forecast. Major and minor feeding cycles. Any say incoming tide is better then outgoing. But bottom line is you want tide moving. This Thursday or wed is full moon and moon is rising around 8 pm. As is incoming tide. So yes, the bite may be better. I think every night this week will be a promising night.

It also depends on what You are Fishing for. Then You can determine Early Mornings or Early Evening or Late Night to go Fishing.

I'm mainly going for grouper and mackerel, but also going for snapper and bonito. In My Opinion, The Best time to Catch Spanish Mackerel is Early in the Morning from just before Sunrise until about 10:00am depending on the Tides. The Best Time for Grouper is about 2 Hours before High Tide to about 2 Hours after High Tide. For Me, The Snapper Bite has been better in the Evening Hours.

best time is any time you can. go during the day, night, middle of the day, morning & evening. go when it's hot, cold, windy, raining. go during big tides, slow tides, high tides & low tides.
Learn something each time you go. Be able to adapt to the conditions. Fish really aren't all that smart. They want to eat & make babies with the least amount of effort/risk possible. Put a bait that looks fairly natural in front of a fish and he's probably going to bite.
That being said, if the conditions of the water or atmosphere have changed drastically over 24-48 hrs, you might have a tough time.

This... added fish can get really pressured and become a little smart.

Tears, I wonder if there's anywhere in this area that gets the pressure the piers get..... The Dunedin Causeway has almost the same problem as the Piers. Sometimes I go there & Fish when nothing is Biting at the Piers. Pompano, Mackerel, Snapper & Sheepshead fishing is good there if the Weather Conditions & Tides are good. That area is also Great for Snook, Redfish & Speckled Trout when they are Legal to Catch.
