Avoid people who have mental constipation and verbal diarrhea, a much more serious condition. Here is a web site for those who want the real science about Hep A B and C. Those who eat raw seafood and those who drink too much more at risk. simplyhealth.today/14-causes-of-hepatitis-a-b-or-c/Also those who feast on mercury laden fish should not throw stones...

I don’t understand why some of you are such chum bags over people eating non treasure fish. You don’t even see how bad it makes you look. It’s like you take it personally that someone ate a fish you find undesirable. Seabird went out with his wife and had a great time and you throw crap at him. What the hell is wrong with you? If this gets me banned, so be it. Hope the couple of you enjoy this forum to your self since you are turning me and others off. Have a nice life.

This is My Opinion. First off, whatever Seabird eats, is Seabird's business and not anyone elses. I am only pointing out what Sail Catfish eats. They eat just about anything that they can get in their mouths. It is also a very slimy Fish and dangerous to handle and can cause severe pain if not handled properly. I know this from past experiences. And I am not throwing Crap at anyone so Careful With Your Comments. I have Personally known Seabird and have been friends with him for over 20 Years, so phishead, Back Off !

MM, I would advise taking back your comments about people getting hepatitis from eating catfish. Simply untrue and misleading. Contrary to science.

MM, I would advise taking back your comments about people getting hepatitis from eating catfish. Simply untrue and misleading. Contrary to science. This is just Science Speaking. According to the News, Pinellas County is the "Leading County" in the Hepatitis Report. I wonder Why. People are eating something that has Crap in it. Why not Catfish or Oysters or some types of Fish. I Love Eating Raw Oysters on a Cracker with Hot Sauce & Hot Cheese. But I am not eating them at this time. Pinellas, Pasco, Orange and Hillsborough counties still account for 6 out of 10 cases reported since 2018. Most of the Outbreaks have occurred from Eating at Restaurants. With all of the Dumping of Sewage here in the Tampa Bay Area, where does it go. The Cows & Pigs are not eating it. In My opinion, the Fish are eating it. I have not ate Any Fish from the area in about 4 months due to the Outbreak. I am not taking any chances. And I am Very Healthy & a Bunch of Pounds less ! By the way, I still have 10 Beers out of a 12 Pack from last Year that is still in My Fridge.

One of the News Stations here in Tampa Bay said that the Police had to close the Courtney Campbell Causeway Beach on Friday because People on Jet-Skis were running into Crap & Poop along Beach here in Clearwater next to the Sanitation Plant just east from McMullen Booth Road & US-60. At least the Catfish are Well Fed.          And Some Fools want to eat Catfish caught here in Tampa Bay !  NO WAY !   That is what I definitely call, "Eating Crap"!        No Wonder, Why Pinellas County has the Most Hepatitis outbreaks. They are eating the Catfish !     MM, You have NO proof that the hepetitus was from the catfish. Hepetitus A can com from people not washing their hands properly after using the restroom. The people involved with the Hep A scares recently were restaurant employees.

No matter what Anyone says, I am not eating Saltwater Catfish. The Catfish eat Anything in the Water. All Others, Help Yourself !    There are other fish I no longer eat due to toxin called Ciguatera, commonly found in large barracuda but there is also a slight risk of that toxin in puffers and cowfish. So there are fish worse than catfish which I will continue to eat on occasion. Anyone eating raw fish or raw shellfish under a risk as well from Hep A.

Just because you add LMAO and a bunch of childish emojis doesn’t excuse being a jerk or making rude comments. Let people post about what they catch and eat without the same old and lame comments. And yes I did take it personally. I can’t stand rich boys with fancy boats making fun of eating anything but snapper and grouper. Or anyone else for that matter.

Here is more about fish that we catch and eat: www.verywellfit.com/the-best-types-of-fish-for-health-2223830Note that mackerel and grouper are high in mercury...and the despised lowly catfish is very low in mercury content. I eat mackerel when I manage to catch them and grouper (once in awhile when I eat out). Moderation is the key to eating anything. We all have our tastes and preferences and those should be respected. My preference is the varied types of panfish and snapper.

can't believe there are still morons that push the "catfish eat sh!t" narrative. this is a nice relic of the past when catfish were eaten primarily by minorities, & poor, because the rich whites didn't value the fish, so it was cheap.
for anyone that thinks hepatitis is carried by catfish, or any fish, please show us 1 single study that backs it up. raw oysters that still have raw contaminated water in the shell are completely different.
if you actually think you can get hep from eating fish out of the bay, then you shouldn't eat a single thing unless you're going to burn it to a crisp and kill the virus with heat.
if you are actually concerned about what contaminates are in your fish, definitely do not eat any big fish. [bioaccumulation]
tilapia are one of the few fish that have been shown to eat fecal material. it happens when they are completely starved and have no food source at all. they are 'eating' the only thing that has any nutritional value.

Left the science/facts in the quoted post. scratched out all the uninformed talk & MM's new healthier lifestyle (good job on this btw) Leading county in Hep. Let's go through how that could happen - dense population (major reason for any viral outbreak)
- tourist destination (possible source)
- drug use & prostitution (unclean activities)
- restaurants with unsanitary conditions (it's amazing how many people don't know how to wash their hands)
- Hep B & C - both are from blood-blood contact (don't do dumb things)
From BN9 - "The state report shows counties along the Interstate 4 corridor are also seeing higher numbers of the virus." Must be all that Tampa Bay seafood being served from here to Daytona...
Please do some actual research before saying such ridiculous things. It makes Florida look even worse when someone says something as absurd as this.
