I finally took out my first peddle yak. Took to pine island. North not south. Had an itch for reds. It was a bit slower then I thought and much harder to peddle then a bicycle. Fish all day. On hook up on red, I think, had a ton of power. Drag tight all the way and still kept unspooling. 3000 model reel. Then decided to pull the hook out and tell me to take a hike. All though this area seemed so promising, it was rather low on bio life. No trout, few mullets. I did find tiny mangos, 2-4”. They were fun. Never caught them that small before. Not sure if I will come back. Thinking cedar key next time the winds slow down and also marco island.

Coming home with an empty cooler sucks. Ssp tomorrow in the am for me. Winds finally allow to cast some tasty soft plastics for gags. And of course I can’t be without slinging for a few macs.

Not too bad. 1.5 hours. I have been reading on few other forums and that area seems to be ripe with reds. A few did say Hernando isn’t so ripe, who knows. One way to find out.
