Shot some more video up at Fred Howard Park by Tarpon Springs. Probably my best video to date. This is shot at the last bridge before you get to the beach. Snook makes a early drive by. Lots of mullet, spots, spadefish and snapper. Anyone ever try to catch and eat spadefish? Link to Video

I used to fish for spadefish on the pier in Gulf Shores, lots of bream-sized ones, they are easy to catch. But every once in while a school of dinner plate sized ones would show up and it was game on. Takes stout tackle to land a 2-3# spade off a pier! We also used to catch big ones over wrecks offshore up there. fresh shrimp pieces and white or pink FishBites work great, small stout hooks, They are delicious, I always just scale, gut/gill and bake them whole, head-on. A little salt & pepper is all you need. Fantastic! I tried filleting the big ones, hard to do and you waste a lot of meat, cook them whole!

I was surprised the number of snapper there. I've seen grouper by the first bridge before. They get fished pretty heavy so are picky. I was thinking about going after the snapper sometime this week. Can you go in there after dark?

Great video! Been there many times but never had an opportunity to fish it. Will have to now. Hurry up and take the video down so the word of snapper there won’t get out! Lol

I fished it this evening. Let’s just say it was great until about ten other people showed up. The bite shut off instantly.

You should drop a knocker rig in front of your camera next time. See if you can get some fish action on video. That would be awesome!
