Got there at 12:30, went to the end, my bud AB had 6 already...small, maybe 14". He was fishing the east side where the span was removed back and forth with white & gold. I tried the west side for 3.5 hrs and got nothing, guy next to me caught a leatherjack on a sabiki, held it up so I could see it and said, "this is how you do it buddy"....we both laughed(crazy ass). AB didn't move and got several more. Bait dudes from Anna Maria showed up and loaded 4 huge livewells with sardines.....Not enough macks around today

Sounds like you blended right in with the tourists today. Looks like they got spooked again with this last front same as the week before. Last Friday the water temps were up to 76 out there now it's back in the 60s and probably dropping some more tomorrow. Sunday and then Monday looks like it could be really good. Front coming in Tuesday.

Can't prove it but I suspect these full moon tides have something to do with it as well

Never had much luck out there with the strong tides there's definitely something to that. Maybe closer to the front where the water is calmer on those days.

Felt like another front came in today with the winds. I have not done very well on strong tide days either.

I was thinking about taking my girls fishing at the skyway this coming Saturday. Do y’all think our time would be better spent fishing for catfish in freshwater, since the tides are strong and cooler weather coming in?

Catfish may not be biting either with these Cold Fronts moving through the area. Your Guess would be as good as mine.

Macks were biting today (3/21), especially at the end of the SSP. I caught my biggest one near the entrance on live bait. Saw a lot of people catching them on spoons. Stopped by NSP around 1:30 in the afternoon, no action there. Tried for sheepshead too but could only find the non-keepers...
Bait was plentiful. Small sardines, threads and white bait. Fished end of outgoing, mostly incoming that was moving at a good pace.
Good luck everyone!
