From fishing lately at night, I am seeing many jumbo shrimp paddling through the dock lights. Is there shrimping in the St.pete area? Are there certain areas that people shrimp. I would love to get my hands on some of these jumbos. Do yall have any information on some areas that would be good shrimping grounds, anything helps, thank you

A cast net, or long handled dip net will get them, also squid. Any grass flat should have shrimp on em. wade at night with a headlamp and small dip net and scoop away, usually those are smaller, but there are a few bigguns. I have caught shrimp on the north pier in dip nets as big as a hotdog.

Cool video. Are the shrimp traps they were using readily available down there in tackle shops?

Yea, I had heard it was shut down, thought maybe with some searching you would find something. Plenty of people out there using nets, ya just gotta practice to get it down pat. Good luck.
BTW,You want an outgoing tide and full moons of April and May are the best.
