There are videos of fresh salmon fillet with parasites in them... Farm raise one usually have them more than wild caught one. Key word FARM RAISED, I don't eat farmed raised fish of any type. our Salmon come from the North Pacific Ocean, NO WORMS. We do like Cod and they are full of worms, you only take the "Back Strap" the closer to the gut the more worms. so we only keep the big ones 12/17 lb as the waste is alot No worms in these big Sivers no worms in the six Whiting we caught and ate yesterday

Wild Salmon have them...it's a nematode that can make you sick for a while, but wild salmon are cleaned and frozen to -20 before they are distributed, and that kills the parasites....

In fact, just about all species of fish have parasites, including those mangos you eat raw tears

Just my luck on the over 20 closure...... Went out by the Gandy in my kayak Saturday morning. Caught 4 trout over 20, biggest was 24. (All released, thanks FWC!) Lost two more right up next to the yak that I also would say were probably over 20. Only caught one in the slot all day (18 inches)..... Caught lots of other species (lots of trash mostly) All in all it was a fun morning but only one trout for the table and a nice 13 inch snapper! I still had Sheep in the fridge from Friday night (caught 4 up to 19 inches), so a feast was had Saturday evening!

Salmon issue mostly is because they live in freshwater as well. Freezing will fix those issue.

Ok so from what i just read in my area st pete no closed season and daily bag is 4 per angler with one being over 20 and the rest over 15 inches and up to 20. thats plenty with me and my son....only need about 4 for our family to fry some up with baked beans and slaw....or grits in the morning LOL...I will miss redfish.....and snook....they should make snook and reds smaller they eat better and are normally males....I would rather eat a 16 to 18 inch then a big breeder..... Snook are born males and change sex around the 24 to 28 mark, if you take the smaller males then they won't grow to females. I'm for tighter limits, make the slots smaller and min size longer. The changes to Triple Tail, cobia and trout are only going to help the fisheries. I'd like to see the size limit raised on Sheepshead and Mangrove Snapper. The fishing pressure is so high, more people with boats, commercial demand for fish as well as technology to make it easier to locate and catch fish, throw in both natural and man-made disasters and we'll see Catch and release slots during the year will end up being the norm, many species have been fished to extinction and some have been brought back, folks complain about Red Snapper and Goliath Group over running spots but it wasn't that long ago that they almost hunted to oblivion. There were hundreds of tons of dead fish washed up along the south-west Florida coastline this past year with the red tide, it put plenty of businesses out of business, lot's of us depend on the fisheries to managed well as it's lively hoods and communities that impacts.
