I just seen a pic on another page of a bunch of Mackerel, have any of you seen any at the pier? I thought the water had to start to warm for summer before the run, but with all this crazy weather anything could be possible!

People who I have chatted with have not found any Macks at the Piers but they are once again catching Pinfish. I also have a few people in boats in search of them in the Gulf but there are No reports of Macks as of yet. We have one more Cold Front coming in Saturday or Sunday and the Macks should appear like in other Years a few days after the Cold Front passes. Plus We are also looking for the Winds out of the South.

MACKMAN: Don't the Kings start the migration and drag the big 30" Spanish with them? Or is that just a sample of my twisted logic?

Parkpass, I love it, super easy, super clean ! Mackerel man, I have family flying in this weekend, taking One very elderly man that lives here to fish, believe me he is going to be happy just to have a pole in his hands, but we need flat hard concrete for him, so Skyway it is ! I am tossing spoons regardless !

MACKMAN: Don't the Kings start the migration and drag the big 30" Spanish with them? Or is that just a sample of my twisted logic? Some Years, small Kings appear in the Mackerel Migration. Each Mack that You might catch, check out the Lateral Lines of the Fish to be sure it is not a King. Kings need to be over 24 inches to keep & You are only allowed 3 to keep per day. The Big Kings usually arrive in April behind the Macks.

Only 9 days to go.....right Mackman? Yes. In the past few years they have arrived on the 15th of February. I will be out there at the SS Pier on the 15th expecting their arrival. I just hope that they are not late. One problem that I am having, I haven't had any reports from South Florida yet of their arrival there. But they will be here soon. I did have a report of the Macks being chased by the Kings in the Keys last week.

I am going in the Morning. Anyone else want to join Me ? I would love to.... but still 4000 miles away in the freezing cold North East of England. We arrive in two weeks time, so please leave some Macks in the Gulf for me and the wife to catch when we arrive. I may need some help with my vacation fishing itinerary, so with post up a separate thread. Would appreciate some help. cheers
