I've targeted Pompano before, although not often, and only during other times of the year. Doc's Goofy jigs usually get the job done! My question for all of you: Is January a productive month for catching Pompano around Tampa Bay? I moved to Madeira Beach last summer and have been fishing out there as well as John's Pass regularly, but since we got into winter mode I have only been going after the sheep. Getting bored of catching sheep and my freezer is full. So do you think going after the Pomps this month would be productive and where would you do it?

The Keys, where the water is warm Can you think of any other area that the water is warm? They are all bunch up together there.
