I'll be at the north pier on Monday morning, I'll be the one catching all the fish with a red Elantra 😬😜 Anyone else goin to the piers Monday? justfish: Good luck on Monday! And as others have said, get there real early as it's a big holiday weekend. I generally stay away from the piers on weekends. My next outing will be Tuesday or Wednesday.

Alright so spent 6 hours there today 3:30 to 9:30 ish. We caught tons.... of bait Seems people to the left and right of us were catching quite a few snook and a snapper or two but count tell for sure since they went into coolers very fast I think we have the lay of the land now and the right rig/bait so will try again perhaps Monday or Tuesday. Thank you all for the advice, the sunset was very beautiful.

Thanks for the good report. Glad it worked out for you. Keep your pier pass, it is good for 24 hour, you could go back and try the other side.

There are a lot of jackwagons as you may see, that'll keep anything legal or not. Sad. Did you try small greenies up against the columns? Snap on some splitshots or tie a weight just enough to get your hook down but allow it to drift into the strike zone. Gotta keep it below the marauding pinners! During the week should be better with less people. D

I hope at least the snapper that went into their coolers were legal. They were certainly poaching snook. Not good. Good luck on your next outing!

Poaching is a crime. Some of those fish going in the coolers fast were being poached especially the snook which are closed until September 1st. The tourists will accept advice as they do not know the fish species and regulations and they will do the right thing when they are given information on the fish species and size limits if applicable. It is the ones that blatantly poach that make me and many others very very mad. They hurt the fisheries for years to come as the fish do not have a chance to grow up and spawn.
If you see someone poaching make mental notes of vehicles/clothing they are wearing and any info that can help law enforcement WALK AWAY and DO NOT confront them or let them see or hear you make the call to FWC. You can call either #FWC or *FWC or 1 800 404-3922 and provide whatever information you can. If you can take date stamped photos or video safely to provide to the FWC do it as that will be good evidence if they are caught and it goes to court.
Mackerelman posted 2 links to report online but I checked one of them and it says if you report online you are subject to the Public Records info requests and your information can be provided if someone does a Public Records request. The website said that if you do not want to be subject to that to call the violation (s) in.
