Me thinks me may be havin a "Deja-Vu" Like John said we've beet this one to death before! It's kinda like the Boaters Vs. Pier Anglers thread... Yadda, Yadda, Yadda, ain't ever gonna change. Fish all the freakin poles y'all need to have a good time... Havin a good time, after all is what it's all about... Right? I think sometimes some of us (myself included) lose sight of that simple fact! I know the little kids used to, and still do, LOVE puttin out a buncha baits, and waitin fer a bite. If that's all it takes to put that fire in thier eye, and the joy in thier heart, I say Hell yeah! Yeah... That's it... Have a good time... It's all pertty harmless really... The old scrooge just remembered! Have A good time! Dang... I think I just had a dang epiphany or somethin! THANX fellers, fer helpin me clear my head, of all that SERIOUS fishin crap, and remembering what we are all really here for... A GOOD TIME... FISH ON FOLKS... "CryJay" LOL Havin said all that, though, you have to admit the folks that put out 47 freakin poles from 1 lightpole to the next... Well.. That's just down rite Rude,N Greedy.

I take up one spot I==I. that's it. I just don't want someone within 2 feet of me casting over my line. Plus if I have 3 baits out I am only a few feet away. Not to sound like an ass or any but unless it's packed I'm not moving as I am only taking up 5 feet or so.

i never go alone and i have 4 lines out if it is my son and I, 2 for soaking and 2 snapper or mack setups. we have our coolers in the center the soakers are in the center and he and I fan out 10 feet away from center so we have room to work the rocks or pilings, but if it is getting busy we will shrink it up some, if there is three of us we take up more space. i cant fish with people on top of me.

It is funny that you mentioned the power plants. I was fishing out at the anclote power plant this past tuesday and a guy caught a nice cobia from his 12 foot row boat just past the fishing pier. This fish measured in at 48 inches and was thick. He said he caught it on a large. live shrimp. After seeing that I was very jealous of that great catch. Now I want one really bad! I by the way did not catch a thing Tuesday! Still better than a day at work.

No cobia sightings, but I did see a pretty good size spotted eagle ray on Thursday. Wasn't aware of casting in front of them, looking for cobia. Didn't matter much anyway, I was soaking a line for grouper and working one for flounder at the time.
