The morning bite is ... nothing!!!!
Once the tide turn there were a few macks and there's more when the tide turn again around sunset.
Got a 16-18" gag while fishing for snapper... got no grouper bite when I am fishing for them. Go figures.
Also caught the largest key west grunt at the pier ever. It's around 14". Other than that it's a slow day.
Ended up bringing one snapper home for dinner and gave the rest of my fish to the people fishing next to me. Got about 8 macks, some of them really nice size. That huge grunt as well.

Tears143,
Did you catch the macks with spoons or with bait? That 14 inch grunt is huge, did big guy bite on shrimp or squid? I wonder if the grunts move in when the water cools off.
MM can comment on the bite changing. My guess is that the morning bite was off as the winds were still up with the frontal passage and the winds were from the N-NE. Later I noticed the winds died down in the afternoon along with mostly high clouds overhead. This evening the winds picked up from the SE. With the winds changing and the front gone, I think that is why the bite improved.
