Hey guys,
I'm new to the forum. Been reading reports for a while now and finally decided to sign up. Figured I should get involved and share instead of just reading.
I fished from 2100 to 0200. Last few hours of incoming and first few hours of outgoing. Snapper were on fire the last few hours of incoming. Caught all of them on frozen greenbacks that I netted a few weeks ago. Snapper ranged from 12-14 inches. Saw several people jigging with gotchas and catching ladyfish consitently. The tarpon were lurking in the shadows and stealing fish off of their lines. Pretty cool to watch. Saw one cobia swim through the light while I was trying to sabiki live bait. Jacks were also swiming on top destroying mullet. My main target for this trip was snapper. Wish I had brought some heavier gear for cobia and jacks. Had a few break offs on what I assume to be big snapper.
Once the tide turned to outgoing I started getting way too much grass on my lines so I attempted to target flounder around approach area. Struck out on the flounder and caught nothing but catfish. Dragging carolina rig with 2 inch greenbacks for bait.
Anyone ever target Black Sea bass around the pier?
