Netted four giant shrimp and a dozen Blue crabs on 4/8, out going tide 8:00 to midnight seen a lot of shrimp getting slammed on the surface I also went old school and let a Colman lantern down just above the surface witch had bait around it the whole time. Next time I go will have some DOAs for sure!

No, I did not fish I really wanted the big shrimp. I think the south pier is better for fishing. I used to get keeper Grouper all the time back when you had to walk out, but the only way to fish that area now is with a boat because its between the old and new bridge

Thanks for the report! Maybe I should go after some crabs since the fishing is slow. LOL

Carbine, you can throw a small cast net , or get a long handle telescoping dip net. Several bait shops sell em. get atleast an 18 ft one.

I was there at sun down and stayed till about midnight, North pier, half way out, outgoing tide I was shinning a light between the two piers and spotting them 20 feet out so I had time to get the net down to ambush them, and yes 20 foot dip net
