I went to the SSP from 6pm-9pm yesterday. I didn't have have much luck myself. I had a spanny mack strike on my gotcha at about sundown but it got off last second.. he looked about 18 inches too. after that I preceded to lose 2 gotcha plugs to rocks on two consecutive casts haha... Caught a lookdown fish off a subiki rig. Real flat weird looking fish. Greenbacks/threadfin/pilchards (whatever u like to call em lol) were not a problem to catch. Let us know how you do man. I'm looking to go back out soon as well.

fellow fishermen...just got back from SSP: awesome day out, weather great, watching/teaching my buddy and his kids was priceless. The baitfish are blacking out the underside of the pier and they are huge....kids slammed the pins/spots/grunts: frozen shrimp and greenies. Lots of people out today on the SSP; no rudeness or crazy stuff going on....just a great day.
Now for the serious stuff, thinking with the last couple of days of warm weather and the piles of baitfish, it should start turning the bite on at any hour....so, go get those lines wet....have a good one.
