Went out at 5 am with my buddy and set up on the south pier for the early morning bite before this cool front.. Bait showed up at sunrise much thicker but bait was quite small. We surprisingly caught some nice cigar minnows and set them out with trolleys.. Not a single king hit.. We noticed Bonita were quite thick and we landed several. We left at 10 am because we had class but we were getting hits from Mack's and Bonita quite often. Idk what's up with the kings. Bonita hit small greenbacks and sardines. Spanish Mack's were around but I honestly didn't target them. We still caught a few Mack's around 18 inches however

I assume you were out on the corner? Going to try and push offshore Friday. Would love to take some Cigar Minners with us?

People got a few on the. Corners but I don't set up all the way at the end.. There is a section I have noticed gets more action from Bonita and other Pelagic species typically. I told my buddy that some boat captions would love some nice ciar minnows and sardines haha
