Headed out to do battle with old Silver at the main span, and play with the Grovers. Proly hit the Ft. flats for the flood tide see if I can skin up a few Trout/Reds. Hoping the winds lay down just a bit. Praying for easy bait. Need that drag screaming adrenaline fix. Pretty exited.

Well noaa called for 5-10 ne wind seemed like 15-20... 2 tide day hard inoming tide that shut the Snapper bite down at least for us. Only got a couple shorties and that was it for them. Spooky interesting trip. Sitting there looking up at that majestic structure surrounded by giant fenders in a tiny 18' flats boat was truly humbling. I will be going back at least once for Gag season for sure though cuz they were another story all together. What they lacked in size they more than made up for with enthusiasm with numerous fish to 18 inches, all Juvies but meaner than hell. Got em all on cut bait and they kinda salvaged the day for us. Will be visiting that area soon with a well full of Pinners. Caught a pile of 12-14 inch Key West Grunts and The largest Pinfish Ive ever seen, a two pounder at least. As far as Tarpon went only 2 Short runs and no jumps... pretty slow. Nice day weather wise but for the wind and the waves and got a nice sunburn. Best part was... I wasnt at work. Fish on folks. j
