Had went out to cape Canaveral. Caught nuthin but big southern ray..probably 30lbs..filleted out the wings both sides..cut in strips..had a about 15 people over for a lil gathering thought they had sum kinda fish nugget. Loved it. Very tast marinated and fried.. Never knew they were that good. Almost make u wanna target em on purpose...lol..strong runners too!. Tight lines folks

thanks for the report, sounds like shark bait to me. How did you cook them? Strips and fried but how? If I happen to kill one Ill use for gag/shark and goliath bait.

Buddy of mine swears by that also. He loves rays, shark, and ......Roadkill. I guess when hungry youll eat anything. I have not tried any ray yet.
Great report though, and there are plenty of rays in the sea, so eat em up.

I want to get a stingray as well to eat. Im going to the NSP for a change this weekend(i usually go to the sap), and I want to catch a large stingray. Are there many stingray at the nap? I've never seen them there, only at the ssp. Is there a specific time or place on the pier where i can find one? I will be using a rope gaff to catch them.

better make sure ole john law don't catch you. don't think you can snatch n fillet rays.

better make sure ole john law don't catch you. don't think you can snatch n fillet rays. tight linens Wanted to clarify what he means to avoid confusion -- you're not allowed to dump trash (including fish carcasses) off the bridge. You're allowed to eat & catch all sting rays except for the black ray with white dots on his back. (spotted eagle ray)
